Board of Directors
Board of Directors members, chosen by the General Meeting that convenes annually, come to us from a variety of professional backgrounds and areas of activity. They meet each month in the Shelter to consider administrative and budgetary planning and follow up. Some of the members are active on committees – the Events Committee that produces the annual fundraising event, the Finance Committee that meets monthly to oversee the Association’s financial management and ensure that it is complying with the various regulatory requirements, and the Grants Committee, charged with overseeing educational and vocational grants to women from the Association’s programs. In addition, Woman to Woman has an independent two-member Audit Committee. ChairpersonOfra Ginio held a number of positions in the field of hi-tech before she left for a career in interior design and art. She has been a volunteer with Woman to Woman since 2005 and a member of the Board since 2006. Her volunteer activities with us include direct involvement in the Shelter’s Volunteer Mentorship program, chairperson of the Finance Committee, member of the Events Committee. She was elected to chair the Board in 2015.Previous board chairpersons include Professor Shulamit Shahar, and Orna Reshef. Board Members Paula David (PhD) is a clinical social worker and psychotherapist and director of the Study Programs Division of the Haruv Institute. She maintains a private clinic for children, adolescents, and adults. Pola joined the Board in 2017. Michal Corcos joined the Board in 2016 and has since then served as Chairperson of the Finance Committee. Michal left the Israel Police in 2008 as a deputy commander, after a career in the Planning and Organizational Division – Resource Planning and Administration for budgets, human resources, and equipment. Esther Yuval joined the Board and Finance Committee in 2022, after retiring from a long career in management. During the present stage of her life, Esther is interested in taking an active role in volunteer work, especially that which involves empowering women, and in which she can contribute from her experience. Shalvit Gross has been an active volunteer of the organization for over 12 years due to her belief in the imporance of being part of the struggle to end violence against women. She has been an member of the board since 2021. Adi Oppenheimer-Mantsur is a clinical social worker and psychotherapist, specializing in DBT. She is the professional director of the DBT field at the Summit Institute in Jerusalem, and has been an active member of the board since 2021. Ayelet Elyashar began volunteering in the shelter and the board in 2022. She joined our organization after serving in the Israel Police for 30 years. In her last role, as the legal advisor for the police, at the rank of brigadier general.
