Board of DirectorsBoard of Directors members, chosen by the General Meeting that convenes annually, come to us from a variety of professional backgrounds and areas of activity. They meet each month in the Shelter to consider administrative and budgetary planning and follow up. Some of the members are active on committees – the Events Committee that produces the annual fundraising event, the Finance Committee that meets monthly to oversee the Association’s financial management and ensure that it is complying with the various regulatory requirements, and the Grants Committee, charged with overseeing educational and vocational grants to women from the Association’s programs. In addition, Woman to Woman has an independent two-member Audit Committee.
Hila Borel joined the Executive Committee in 2020. Her other volunteer activities include directing the “Solutions for Children” project in Jerusalem’s Alyn Orthopedic Hospital for Children. Her connection to Woman to Woman is a deeply personal one: her late parents, Shifra and Nahum Ziv, were two of our most valuable and beloved volunteers whose long-standing contribution to the workings of the Shelter was immeasurable. They imbued Hila with their own zeal for the work carried on here.
Annat Gal has been one of our volunteers since 2009 and on the Board since 2010. She was a Volunteer Mentor in the Shelter and afterwards became an active member of various committees: Finance Committee, Events Committee which she coordinated between 2015-19, and the Grants Committee. Anat retired from the Israel Police in 2008 as a Deputy Commander, her last position being Director of Acquisitions.
Paula David (PhD) is a clinical social worker and psychotherapist and director of the Study Programs Division of the Haruv Institute. She maintains a private clinic for children, adolescents, and adults. Pola joined the Board in 2017.
Ra`aya Levy Goodman is an educator and an attorney. She works in the Ministry of Education as supervisor of Special Populations and Chairperson of the Special Education Exceptions Committee. She became a member of the Board in 2019.
Maya Leibowitz has been a Woman to Woman volunteer since 2014. In addition to her Board membership, Maya is a personal mentor for women in the Shelter and Halfway Housing apartments. Until she retireed in 2014, Maya was the rabbi of one of the Reform Movement congregations in Mevasseret Zion.
Michal Corcos joined the Board in 2016 and has since then served as Chairperson of the Finance Committee. Michal left the Israel Police in 2008 as a deputy commander, after a career in the Planning and Organizational Division – Resource Planning and Administration for budgets, human resources, and equipment.
Esther Yuval joined the Board and Finance Committee in 2022, after retiring from a long career in management. During the present stage of her life, Esther is interested in taking an active role in volunteer work, especially that which involves empowering women, and in which she can contribute from her experience.
ChairpersonOfra Ginio held a number of positions in the field of hi-tech before she left for a career in interior design and art. She has been a volunteer with Woman to Woman since 2005 and a member of the Board since 2006. Her volunteer activities with us include direct involvement in the Shelter’s Volunteer Mentorship program, chairperson of the Finance Committee, member of the Events Committee. She was elected to chair the Board in 2015.
